"The Drylands are the most inhospitable place in Britannia. The parched air and scorched sands quickly rob a traveller of all moisture. The continuously drifting dunes and shimmering air can disorient all but the most competent trackers. If one manages to survive the heat there is always the constant danger of venomous serpents and scorpions. At one time adventurers even reported giant ants! Thankfully, these reports have died down over the past 200 years."
