U IX News Update

Fare Well Notice

  • October 7, 1998:
New permanent email address is telavar@surfing.net

  • August 5, 1998:
IMPORTANT: Obviously my ISP couldn't resolve my problem with email thus I consequently cancelled my account by the end of this month. However, sending email is still possible (sort of), either to my ICQ or the Geocities account. This is of course just a temporary solution, everything will be back to normal by the end of August/early September.

  • June 3, 1998:
Unfortunately my email facility still doesn't work as it should, especially sending is almost always impossible. If you send me mail but didn't get a response yet, don't worry I'll answer as soon as I get those problems resolved (maybe I have to switch ISPs as well). However this won't happen within the next 3 weeks since I'm on vacation :)

  • April 9, 1998:
Hi all, yes I'm still here and alive, however not with really good news this time. As you may have noticed I haven't updated the site for quite a long time and as it looks now I won't be able to do so for a while. Of course, this doesn't mean the site is dead forever but I still have a few other, more important things to solve before I can get back on it. Just be patient, right now I can't really say *when* I will be able to continue the work here (and yes, it is work sometimes :)) but be assured you'll immediately notice it... Meanwhile I'd appreciate your feedback again, specifically your opinions about what you like on this site in particular and what not, what should be changed and so on. I planned to come up with some form of survey for this but I realized it probably would take me weeks to setup the scripts etc. so I sticked to the old-fashioned method :). Also, if you sent me mail in the last weeks and got no answer, I apologize. My email provider had major offs in february and march. In fact I did answer each and every mail I got during this time but unfortunately not all of them to made it through the local network :(.

  • November 19, 1997:
Added a few still missing things in the UO/Martial Arts section: Dagger, Cleaver, Butcher- and Skinning Knife, the two crossbows and the thin version of the Long Sword. The wrong skill listings for the Warhammer and several other things are also fixed now.

  • November 5, 1997:
There's a new sub-section in Martial Arts now, dealing with UO weapons/armoury. At least the graphics and item values are (almost) done but as usual I don't have the descriptions ready :) so once again, I'd appreciate your help here...

  • October 8, 1997:
Okay, seems I mixed up some things yesterday :)...The /music folder on the UO CD does indeed contain the correct tunes, not the replacements from Pagan. This applies however for its subdirectories (named 4MB and 512k) so if you are going to copy those files onto your harddisk don't do that without backing up 'Samlethe', 'Swamp', 'Plains', 'Death' and 'Magincia'.
Also, I've finally rewrote the Copyright sections...

  • October 7, 1997:
I'm back :). Just got my final copy of UO and found a few new songs in the music folder of the CD. Since everything has obviously been remixed for the final I replaced all the UO midifiles in the Bard's Library with their newer counterparts. For some strange reason several cool and original tunes from the beta got replaced with old ones from the Pagan soundtrack :(...so I splitted the page up a bit. Those songs that didn't make it into the final are still there, while the new (?!) ones are separated at the bottom of the page.
By the way, this site now has a domain name alias. Just type in 'www.telavar.com' and you'll always get redirected to its actual URL :)

  • July 17, 1997:
Nothing new yet :). I just want to let you know that I've got my UO CD at last. Due to that new situation I'm currently unable to do any custom works as well as any major website additions. Thus, if you requested something (graphics work, midi, whatever...), please be patient, I'll try to do those things whenever I have a break :). Until then, why not join me on my quests in the Realm of Britannia?
Another thing: I recently finished a few more graphics for the Britannia Travel Guide, in particular Terfin, The Deep Forest/Emp's Lair, Serpent's Spine, The Drylands and the Fens of the Dead. As I said, I don't have the time yet to write any background stories for those locations, so I'd appreciate your help here...If you have certain knowledge of the Ultima history and would like to see those spots included in the Travel Guide, feel free to write something and send it to me...Interested? Well then check out the Custom Additions page for the submission info :)

  • November 10, 1996:
The Bard's Library is no longer top page. Instead it's part of a new set: Mysterious Sosaria, which contains additional sections, in particular Martial Arts and the Britannia Travelguide. However only Martial Arts is working yet.

  • June 03, 1996:
Erased the whole site directory and uploaded the first parts of the new html-code and self-rendered graphics which represent the current form of this page. Changed the name to *The Bard's Library*. An imagemap of a pile of books is shown to the left which selects an individual page for each of the games (only the main series U3-U8 yet). All midifiles got long filenames for better identification.

  • January 14, 1996:
First experiments with frames. The graphics are still the same but the page has now a menu-like structure to the left and a download area to the right. Lots of improvements in the midi files.

  • October 1995:
First attempt to make a web page under the label *Ultima Music Page* dealing (obviously) with music from the Ultima games. One page without special graphics, just links to the zipped midifiles.
